Groundhog Day

Hey everybody,

Another game at Qwest and another game without a goal.  Once again we play the away team off the field, but somehow can’t get the goals we deserved.  Zach Thorton had a good game in the Chivas goal, but we did have a knack of hitting the shots right at him.  Very frustrating for everyone.  If we weren’t creating the chances then I would be worried.  We are getting the chances and one of these games we are going to put up a big number on somebody.  Only one home game left in the regular season to make this happen.  Good thing we have been improving our away form.  Three tough away games now in a row and we need to make sure we get the points to get us into the playoffs.

I am very proud of the way the team defended.  I can’t remember a match where I have had as little to do.  I don’t remember having to make a save.  I had this bad feeling that in the end while we were pushing forward to get the goal, we might leave gaps in the back and give them a chance.  We had the man advantage, but just couldn’t get the goal.  At least we keep it clean in the back.  Results went pretty well for us this weekend, but it’s very tight for the playoff spots.  We are off to New England this weekend.  We lost at home to the Revolution a few weeks ago so now its time to get them back.

Had a good time tonight at EMP for the launch of the new Halo game ODST.  Sturgis, Evans, Dragavon, and myself played in the firefight tournament.  Sturgis is a level 50 Halo player so our game plan was to survive and let Nate get all the points for us.  Nate ran the show, but we couldn’t quite hold up our end and we didn’t advance to the next round.  Now I’m just looking forward to playing the campaign version of the game at home.

Enjoy the weather the next couple of days, could be our last for quite awhile.

Ha, I just watched “Groundhog Day”; describes the game perfectly. What is UP with not winning at home!? It’s getting downright bizarre. But the defense is looking better all the time. Best of luck to the whole team in New England!
