Back after some technical difficulties

Hey everybody,

Sorry I’ve been away for a few days, still trying to work out all the bugs with the new site.  Looks to be up and running better than ever, so let’s keep our fingers crossed everything works the way it is supposed too.

Things haven’t quite been going as well as planned the last couple of games.  Three league games with only one point, a good butt kicking by the last place team, and no goals.  Not exactly what we like to see.  On a positive,  a great night at Qwest was had by all against last year’s best team in the World FC Barcelona.  We did lose 4-0, but I think everyone who played, watched the game in the stadium, or on tv had a great time.  For the Seattle fans to see some of the best players in the world up close and in person can only continue to raise the profile of the Sounders and the sport in America.

A couple days later and we were back on the road to Salt Lake.  We seemed to clean up our defensive problems that we had against San Jose to still be frustrated at the other end.  We just couldn’t seem to breakdown RSL.  Credit to the home team, they defended well as a team, worked hard and waited for us to make a mistake.  A quick kick from the RSL goalkeeper, a great finish and we find ourselves a goal down.  We tried hard, pushed for the equalizer and were unlucky not to be awarded a late penalty for a clear hand ball in the Salt Lake box.  Sometimes the calls go your way (Montero’s goal against Houston) and sometimes not.

Now we have a good full week of training to prepare for another away game in LA against a very inform Galaxy.  It will be nice to see some old friends and get that elusive second away win of the season.  Everyone is fully committed to put this bad run behind us and get back to winning ways.

I want to thank all the great fans who stood in line and waited at the Qwest Pro shop tonight for the autograph session.  You are the reason why we are the envy of the league.  See  you next Thursday against New England.

Remember Seattle: Always look out for number one and don’t step in number two.  Stay classy.

Kasey

Great positivity from our leader! Don’t panic, it’s a long season & it’ll start bouncing our way soon.

  2. Thanks for the update Kasey, good luck against Beckham & Donovan on Saturday. Also, I saw your interview after the MLS All-Star game, please stick around to play Portland and Vancouver!

    Kasey-
thanks for bringing this back and giving us updates. it is GREAT to hear your opinions on things without the censorship of the papers or FO. I will say it is also very noticeable to the fans how YOU never give up and give your full 90 each game. The fans notice this and that is part of why you are so loved among us. thanks for that! I really hope your dedication & effort rubs off on the rest of the team as they seem to be falling into a funk. the piss-poor reffing hasn’t helped – and while i don’t think the reffing has dictated any games final scores, it DOES mess with your head as a player and create frustrations – witness Freddie’s getting manhandled by RSL and no calls being made. Kudos to Freddie for not ripping into the refs – i know he’s vocal and he’s showing restraint which is good.

I just wish we could get some consistency with the referees this year.

Don’t let any of the Galaxy players sneeze on you Kasey.

Hey Kasey… thanks for signing my wife’s jersey and a ball for me. She used my good match ball, though, so don’t take offense but I’ll be using it in games despite the autograph!

Best of luck in LA, we (ECS) are bringing like a hundred or so plus the SoCal Sound folks, so you guys will hear us I’m sure.
